The program allows an in-depth hands-on introduction to the ground realities of tiger conservation in and around the Kanha National Park.

Kanha Tiger Reserve is one of the oldest, largest and best known habitats of the Tiger in India. The program allows the opportunity for studying the tiger in its habitat, learning about human-wildlife conflict issues, gaining an insight into the lives of the Baiga and Gond tribal, seeing the fascinating gond paintings, and living in some of the most spectacular wildlife areas of India

On this trip the children will undertake the following experiences and activities

  • This program aims to give an introduction to tiger conservation in India at the grass roots level.
  • Visit the plastic free village and understand the role played by students is creating environmental awareness in the region
  • Learn about the Gonds and Baigas of the region and to understand their role in the conservation of this unique ecosystem.
  • Understand the role played by art in the life’s of Gond artist who paintings are full of stories
  • Set up camera traps and learning techniques of making impression pads for monitoring animal movement the students learn about the ground reality about TIGER census and how it is done.
  • Learning to use binoculars and telescope for spotting and identify at least 10 key bird and animal species each
